Postpartum Support International

1 in 10 fathers will experience postpartum depression while up to 18% of men will develop a clinically significant anxiety disorder such as generalized anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder at some point during the pregnancy or the first year postpartum.

Parental Mental Health: Factoring in Fathers includes men in the discussion about early parenthood, to foster a gender-equitable, whole family approach to parental mental health, and to increase awareness about best practices in the care for expectant and new fathers.


The Expectant Father: The Ultimate Guide for Dads-to-Be (Fifth Edition) gives a month-by-month overview and the tools to support your partner, prepare for your baby’s arrival, and take care of yourself. It concludes with two special sections: one on labor and delivery, guiding you through the big day; and the other on what comes next, covering the first few months after the baby’s arrival.
